    Going home

    Adoption Process

    Step 1: Application

Whenever a new litter of Maine Coon kittens are available and ready for applications, we’ll announce it on Facebook and Instagram. The post will include a link to a simple online form. Your information will remain private, and if your application is not accepted, it will be promptly deleted. You will be contacted if your application is accepted. We aim to respond within 24-48 hours.

    Step 2: Deposit

Once your application is approved, a deposit will be required. If the deposit is not made promptly, your spot may be offered to the next approved applicant. Deposits are nonrefundable to prevent time wasters but can be transferred to a future litter if needed.

From this point forward, you'll receive weekly updates, along with photos and videos of your kitten and the litter.

    Step 3: Kitten Visits

At 9 weeks old, one week after vaccinations, you’ll be invited to visit and, if you haven’t chosen yet, select your kitten in person. During this visit, you’ll also meet the parents and have the opportunity to ask any questions.

    Step 4: Home Time

Kittens will be ready to go home approximately 1–2 weeks after desexing, at around 12–14 weeks old. The home time checklist (detailed below) will be completed beforehand. During pickup, please allow time for us to review your contract before bringing your new family member home.

    Home Time Checklist:

All kittens will have the following health checks, medications, procedures, and certificates:

    • Microchipped - Your local council will need this microchip number in order to register your new kitten. This is a legal requirement.
    • Ownership transfer for the microchip. This is separate from registering with your council.
    • Desexed.
    • Vaccinations - More info below on what is included
    • General Health Care Check-up with our veterinarian will be performed before home time, and a certificate given clearing the kitten's general health.
    • Parasite control medication will be used as a prevention throughout the kitten's first 12 weeks of life until adoption.
    • A pedigree certificate - confirming 5 generations of pedigree.
    • Welcome Pack will be provided, including a carrier, current food, and a few goodies.

All of our kittens will always have a home with us. If you find yourself unable to care for your new kitten, or just need advice, our doors are always open.

    Vaccinations Required

All kittens will have had their first 2 rounds of vaccinations (F3 Vaccine) before going to their new home. This vaccine covers:

    • Feline Panleukopenia (Feline Parvovirus): A highly contagious and potentially fatal disease that affects kittens, older cats, and sick cats.
    • Feline Calicivirus: A highly contagious virus that causes respiratory and oral infections.
    • Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis (Herpesvirus): A virus that can cause inflammation and infection in the eye, sinus, and respiratory tract, often referred to as "cat flu".

F3 is a core vaccine: This means it's recommended for all kittens, regardless of whether they are indoor-only or indoor-outdoor.

Further vaccines scheduled will be advised upon picking up your new kitten.

It is recommended to have 3 rounds of vaccinations by 20 weeks of age, a booster at 12  months and every 1-3 years depending on your veterinarian's advice.
